Flashback Friday!!

WHOA! Hold the phone, what the hell are we looking at above here? Please, just bear with me if you can and we'll get to it. Whether you like it or not. Promise.
Anyways, who is super excited that it's Friday?? I am! I am! I am super excited for many reasons.
1. You all get to have a sneak preview of me from this awesome picture from 8th grade. I know, I'm sure you're all saying, well if this is the sneak preview, I'm not willing to give up my time and subscribe to this blog because I've seen the future, and it's not looking good. Well friends, trust me, I have gotten slightly better looking (Well, let's hope, right?). Also, my sense of fashion has matured and evolved (Once, again, let's hope).
And finally 2. I'm dog sitting the adorable Ruby this weekend. She's super cute and rambunctious.
So, let's move on to the today's picture. Hopefully, Flashback Friday will be a regular occurrence on our beloved blog, because if you can't laugh at your past fashion faux pas, what can you laugh at? Let us take this picture step by step as to not get overwhelmed by it's shear awesomeness.

A. Yes, I was an 8th grade Math Competition Winner. Jealous? Wait, what's that? You're not? You're actually embarrassed for me? Well, I have news for you, ever fashionable readers, I love math and am not ashamed of it (pushing imaginary glasses further up on nose).
B. Yes, faithful readers, those are cargo jeans you are seeing. Once again, jealous? Okay, so at first I was horrified at these jeans, but then I looked to the person on my right. Guess what, she's also wearing cargo jeans. So look who was little miss fashionable even back then?? Okay, so maybe I wouldn't go as far as to call cargo jeans fashionable, but at least I wasn't the only kid rockin' them. Also, who didn't own a pair of cargo somethings? I had a favorite pair of drawstring khaki cargo pants from Limited Too. Gosh I miss those...
Let's face it though. My hips were big enough without slapping big ol' pockets on them. And it's not like they served a purpose, I wasn't keeping tator tots, nails, or I don't know, cargo of some sort in them.
C. I also would like to point out the fact that I had apparently not discovered a hair straightener yet. I had, though, from the looks of it, discovered tweezers because can we talk (blog) about how thin my eyebrows look? That's not just my imagination, right? Well, at least something back then was thin on me. Zing.
D. Finally, let us next look to the girl on my left. There is a scrunchy on her wrist. Oh, how I long for the days of storing a scrunchy on my wrist - It was SO convenient! Apparently, or so I've heard, scrunchies are coming back in. And even though in the sentence prior to this one I praised scrunchies, I don't really want them to come back in style. They're so deliciously tacky...but I guess they can add some flare to your hair....in an obnoxious sort of way.

Well, that's all the fashion mishaps I can possibly handle for one day. Perhaps next week, we'll delve deeper into my picture archives and relive when I (my mom) feathered my bangs as a youngin'. Or, maybe we can showcase my track suit that I wore for picture day in 2nd grade. Now those, I miss.
